UK children plan to find dream home by 35

The majority of UK children hope to own their dream home by the time they hit 35, a study shows.

Despite many people opting to rent properties as lending continues to remain restricted, the nation's kids are refreshingly optimistic with 68 per cent confident they will find their perfect property by 35.

The research by Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks also shows that 19 per cent of those asked hope to be in their ideal house by 25, suggesting many may need to make use of self-storage services until they are moved in.

British children also seem to have high expectations of their professional success, as 33 per cent predict their home will cost between £500,000 and £1 million.

Edinburgh storage space in particular may be in high demand as 89 per cent of children are hopeful of owning their dream home by 35 years of age.

A quick look at some of the features youngsters want to have in their homes suggests extra storage facilities may be required in the event of a move, with boys keen to have a bowling alley in the home and girls set on stables.
