SELF-STORAGE INSURANCE
Insurance cover for domestic customers is compulsory unless you can provide us with an existing insurance cover document proving you have adequate cover. Business customers must maintain adequate cover themselves.
Cover
Your Len Lothian insurance covers: fire, lightning, explosion, aircraft, riot, earthquake, subterranean fire, storm, flood, escape of water, impact, theft following forced/violent entry or exit, malicious damage. Subject to an excess of £100 to be deducted from any claim. This excess can be removed on payment of an additional insurance charge.
Pairs and Set Clause
Where any items are part of a pair or set, underwriters will only pay for the actual parts which are lost or damaged. No payment will be made for articles that are not damaged.
Under Insurance
If you fail to declare the full market value of your property on the Storage Agreement, in the event of a claim, you will only be entitled to recover from insurers the proportion of the loss as the declared value bears to the total value of your property. If you under-insure you may well suffer.
Time Limits for Claim Notification
All claims must be notified to the operator no later than the time of final removal of your property from store.
