The Daisy Chain Trust
What does your business do?
The Daisy Chain Trust is a charity. We give grants to childrens organisation in Edinburgh, Lothians and the Borders. The grants are mainly given to small organisations that cannot secure funding from other sources in the fields of Medical Care, Welfare and Education. We have no paid staff, only volunteers and I run the charity from home so most of the money raised does go where it is needed.
What is a typical working day for you/what does it look like?
I don’t really have a typical working day. When required I hold Trustees’ meetings to discuss applications. I also hold committee meetings frequently and when there is a fundraising event coming up then we all work very hard to make it a success.
What do you use Len Lothian for?
Twice a year we have a Vintage and Second Hand Clothes sale and in the meantime we use Len Lothian to store the clothes and railings as the unit is very clean and the clothes stay fresh and wrinkle free.
What’s your top tip in Business?
My top tip as a charity is to have a board of trustees and committee members with various talents. I certainly do and I am very grateful and lucky to have such a wonderful team.
