There are plenty of fantastic Christmas markets all over the country for you and the family to enjoy.. From hitting an open-air ice rink to delicious food and a giant Ferris wheel, here are a few of the best Christmas markets to visit in Scotland.

Glasgow St Andrew’s Square Christmas Market 

Located in St Andrew’s Square, this market has over 50 chalets selling crafts, gifts and delicious food. A fantastic venue for foodies looking for Scottish produce - including haggis! There’s also an open-air ice rink where you can skate while enjoying views of the Glasgow Cathedral - and there’s a Santa Land for kids! 

Aberdeen Christmas Village Market 

The Aberdeen Christmas Village Market has returned to the town's city centre, and there is definitely something for the whole family to enjoy here. From an outdoor ice rink to a festive fairground with returning and new attractions, including Balloon rides and the Helter Skelter - don’t forget to add this market to your list if you’re visiting Aberdeen. 

Edinburgh’s Christmas Market 

Edinburgh’s Christmas Market is located in East Princes Street Gardens and offers a stunning view of the city’s castle. With over 80 chalets selling everything from handmade crafts to Harry Potter-themed gifts and tickets to ride the giant Ferris wheel, this market is open to the public from 10 am to 10 pm every day from November 25th until January 5th. 

The Ethical and Scottish Christmas Fair 

Platforming environmental and locally made and sourced gifts in a warm first-floor indoor market at the Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre - this event boasts fair and ethically traded goods from South Africa, Kenya, Nepal, India, Vietnam and Bali. From woodcraft and Scottish artists to chilli jams and chutneys - go green with your family this festive season! 

Glasgow George Square Christmas Market 

Over in Glasgow, you’ll find the second-biggest Christmas market in Scotland - with traders from across the world coming to exhibit their hand-crafted goods. Enjoy live music with cheery Christmas vibes in between at this market with your friends and family. 

Pro Tip: don’t forget to pop by their 15-metre-tall Christmas tree for an Instagram photo!
